Originally from New Haven, CT, Amanda relocated to New Orleans in 2009. Amanda is one of the Experience Team Leaders at the Sazerac House, a three-story immersive experience filled with New Orleans history, cocktails, spirit samples and an active distillery. As an Experience Team Leader, Amanda trains Sazerac House team members to provide excellent guest experiences. She also hosts guests at the Sazerac House experience within-person tastings, classes and guided tours.
Before moving to New Orleans, she spent years traveling the US and Europe. Through her travels she studied regional culinary traditions, local spirits and the different regional traditions of celebration. She spent the majority of her life in the hospitality industry, beginning in the beloved pizza industry in New Haven, CT at the age of 16. Since moving to New Orleans she’s shifted her focus to sustainability behind the bar after being inspired by the Slow Food Movement in Italy. Amanda has spent her time in New Orleans as a Beverage Director, General Manager, Bartender and educator in some of the city’s most notable bars and restaurants.
Amanda’s love of hospitality began when she was a young girl accompanying her family when they went to work at various restaurants in New Haven. She loved watching the culinary team and bartenders create magic out of thin air for the guests’ enjoyment. The interactions of something so simple and complex inspire her to create memorable experiences for all of those she encounters.
Here’s to classic cocktails — and those destined to be.
